Copenhagen

we didn't spend as much time in Copenhagen as we did in Stockholm.  we only had time to do two things: visit the Louisiana Art Museum which was about a 30 minute train ride north of Copenhagen, and take a boat tour of Copenhagen.  but i found that wherever i turned, there was something amazing or beautiful to see.  this is a city that i definitely would like to revisit and spend more time exploring.

this is the "Black Diamond" - we were all blown away by the sparkling reflection of the water on this glass building which is the public library.  i would have loved to see the inside, but alas, no time!

my favourite favourite art from the whole trip - The Merman and His Seven Sons.  submerged underwater, most people walked by without noticing it.  truly surprising and beautiful.

here in Madison, WI, it finally feels like spring.  and as in every spring before, i forget how good warmer weather feels and am pleasantly surprised.  the other day, i saw a cardinal couple inspecting a tree in our backyard - i was hoping they would settle on it and build their nest, but i haven't seen them since. :(  meanwhile, in our house, i am busy getting rid of clutter and so there is a huge mess that always precedes organization. :)  partly spring fever, partly necessity.

hope you are enjoying this beautiful spring weather!

Stockholm

happy monday, everyone!  here, in Madison, it finally feels like spring!!  i was so excited to go outside without my winter jacket today.

i wanted to share some photos that i took during our time in Stockholm.  the weather wasn't as good as we had hoped it would be and it even snowed, but that didn't stop us from exploring this beautiful city.  there was much to do and see - the kids and i loved it.  rather than putting up a whole lot of photos, here are just some of the things that my eyes were drawn to:

Birch trees - they were everywhere and i loved them.

Moss and rocks were also everywhere

and of course, the water and the many islands that make up Stockholm.
